Darryl Brown 🦅 Chief Grey Eagle is a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He resides on his grandfather's last allotted land, previously Indian Territory before statehood, which also serves as his ceremonial grounds. Born and raised in this tribal district and Choctaw County of SE Oklahoma, Grey Eagle embarked on this ceremonial way of life following his grandfather's passing in the late 80s. A profound dream led him to the sacred lodges, prompting him to initiate Sundancing with Dakota relatives on the Yankton Reservation in South Dakota in 1996. Upon receiving a sacred bundle and guidance from the elders, they were instructed to establish Sundance Ceremonies locally. Their inaugural ceremony took place in 1997 in the Tvshka, OK area (Tvshka translates to Warrior in Choctaw), and subsequently relocated to his grandfather's land in 1998, where they have remained ever since. As caretaker of the Star Medicine Stone and various other stones encountered during his earth walk, Grey Eagle utilizes these sacred objects in all ceremonies. Since 1997, Grey Eagle has dedicated himself to serving the Choctaw Nation and its people, a commitment he continues to uphold to this day.
